Why buy an expensive 3D printer but have a cheap hotend?

The hotend is the most important component in your 3D printer because its sole job is to melt the plastic into printable lines, so it needs to be highly accurate and reliable.

The Mosquito is typically used for high end applications.  As of April 2020, the Copperhead was released.  This is a more affordable alternative to the Mosquito, which more suited to the skilled DIY enthusiast.

Both of these hotends are mountable to a standard printer.  There are many adapters to fit most 3D printers and are mostly available on Thingiverse as open-source.
