AquaTek™ X1 Universal Water Soluble Support Filament
Our AquaTek™ X1 is an all-new advanced universal water soluble support material formulated specifically for printing complex parts.
AquaTek™ X1 is readily water soluble in warm water with excellent adhesion to the broadest range of materials - including our popular advanced composite materials CarbonX™ Carbon Fiber Nylon and AmideX™ Glass Fiber Nylon.
AquaTek™ X1 Attributes:
- Readily soluble in warm water
- Eco-friendly - safe for disposal in house or office drains
- Ideal support material for the widest array of materials
- Low moisture absorption while exposed during printing (less tacky over time)
Compatible Materials:
AquaTek™ X1 is compatible as a water soluble support for the widest array of materials including PLA, ABS, ASA, PETG, Nylon, and Flexibe grades (TPC, TPU, COPE). This includes composite variants of these grades such as carbon fiber, glass fiber, and ESD-safe.
Filament Specs:
Recommended Print Conditions:
- Extruder: 190-220°C
- Bed Temp: 60-90°C
- Chamber Temp: Up to 120°C if your printer is so equipped
- Storage: AquaTek™ X1 will absorb moisture from ambient humidity, therefore best practice is to store filament in a sealed container between uses
Recommended Support Removal Techniques:
- Break away excess support material that is easily accessible - reduces dissolution time (more support material = longer time to dissolve)
- Submerge part in warm water. Hot tap water is typically 100-120°F; 38-49°C, which is generally more than adequate for dissolving AquaTek™ X1 (be safe with hot water!)
- Agitating water reduces dissolution time (sonic or mechanical agitation)
- Heat or replace warm water as it becomes cool if the support has not been removed
- Residue is ecologically safe and can be disposed of in house or office drain - rinse drain thoroughly with fresh warm water to assure waste water evacuates
